[Practical Application Review – Week 49]

Greetings,

We continue our journey of exploring all 260 chapters of the New Testament, five (5) chapters each week.  Let us continue in the book of Revelation.

Schedule – Week 49:

Please read and/or listen to Revelation 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Even though reading and listening to the Bible being read is valuable, our primary goal is learning to live the Bible (to the best of our ability).

Consider our Practical Application Review process…

For “every” chapter:

Step 1: Select a passage of interest

Step 2: Identify area of teaching

Step 3: Consider a practical application

Now let us explore an example (of our three-step process) for each of these five chapters…

Text #1: Revelation 3

   Passage: (vv. 20-22)

Teaching: If you open the door to Jesus, He will enter and fellowship with you.  Those who overcome will sit with Jesus on His throne.  Hear what the Spirit says…

Application: What an invitation from our Heavenly Lord and Savior.  My heart’s door is open to Jesus.  And I so desire to eternally enjoy His presence, living and resting with Him.

Text #2: Revelation 4

   Passage: (vv. 6-9)

Teaching: Four creatures were seen having no rest from continual worship of our Holy Lord God Almighty.  They offer Him glory, honor and thanks.

Application: Though I enjoy worship as a daily experience, I honestly feel that more time should be set aside in full abandonment of our Creator and God.

Text #3: Revelation 5

   Passage: (vv. 8-10)

Teaching: The four creatures and twenty-four elders carried a gold cup full of incense.  These were the prayers of the saints.  People redeemed from every tribe, tongue, people and nation.

Application: May we never stop praying.  Oh, that these gold cups may be large and filled up with my prayers also.  Thank you, Lord Jesus for including me in your plan for humanity.

Text #4: Revelation 6

   Passage: (vv. 9-11)

Teaching: The souls of those who had been killed for the sake of God’s Word and the testimony of Jesus were seen under the altar.  Each of the martyrs were given a white robe.  More martyrs yet.

Application: May we remain faithful to our Lord Jesus all the way to the end.  Remember, God is worthy of our life and death.

Text #5: Revelation 7

   Passage: (v. 9)

Teaching: A great multitude which no one could number from every nation, people, kindred and tongue stood before the throne, in the presence of the Lamb (Jesus).  They were clothed in white robes and held palms in their hands.

Application: I desire more than anything to be a part of this union of God’s people.  Let us be certain that everyone gets invited to this incredible event.
